Mary Guy

Mary Guy, born in Tasmania many years ago, is a consultant, trainer and artist, and holds a Diploma of Management in disAbility studies. Mary has been an active advocate in the disAbility sector for over thirty years, and has served on many National and State Committees.

Mary is currently chairperson of Nican. Mary is an Alderman on the Glenorchy City Council, was a founder member and currently the Convenor of Glenorchy City Councils Access Advisory Committee, President of COSMOS Recreational Services, Vice-President of Community Based Support (South), Chairperson of the Tasmanian Disability Advisory Council, and a member of the Tasmanian Women's Council.

Mary was elected to Glenorchy City Council in 1996 and has been involved in many of the Councils community activities including Council's representative on Land Use Planning Committee, Crime Prevention for Business Working Group and Education Committee under the State Partnership Agreement.
