Community and Government Disability Organisations' Showcase Day

Event date:
24 November 2008

Community & Government disability organisations make a significant contribution to the ACT community. They do this through their excellent service provision. These organisations build community and deepen our appreciation of each other as citizens of this community.

The ACT Leadership and Development Group ( sponsored by Koomarri) celebrated this contribution earlier in the year by holding a day which provided disability service organisations to 'show off' their skills, systems, and acknowledge. The day was a huge success. Following on from this, and at the request of many of you, we have decided to host another day and include community/non-government and government organisations.

Community & Government Disability Organisations'
SHOWCASE DAY
Monday 24 November 2008 at The Hellenic Club of Canberra

We are calling for expressions of interest from Community & Government disability organisations who would like to participate in this day by presenting a short paper or workshop.

Tell us about the good things you are doing in your organisation:

Are you doing something innovative in service provision?

Is staff training your area of expertise?

What H.R. strategies are you engaging in to deal with staffing issues?

How have you structured your organisation and why?

Tell us about how you are doing with your core business of residential service, employment, Community Access, etc.

Tell us about what your organisation does well.

Please register your interest with a half page description of your proposed presentation via email to Veronica Hadfield at [email protected] by 1 November 2008.
