Kanga Cup and AWD Football

The Kanga Cup is the BIGGEST International Youth Football Tournament in the Southern Hemisphere. 2011 marks the 21st edition of the prestigious event. The Kanga Cup is held in high regard by the national and international football family. After 21 years of operation the Kanga Cup would like to launch divisions that will cater for Athletes with a Disability to run as part of the Official tournament. We are calling for expressions of interest from interested groups who would like to participate in a unique and unrivalled week of football and fun in Canberra in July.

Competition Details

Classification: Athletes with a Disability

Age: Under 14/Over 14

Match Length: U14/ 25 minute halves (50 minute game)

O14/ 30 minute halves (60 minute game)

Match Specifications: U 14/ 5 v 5 and O14/ 7 v7

Pitch Size: 30-40m x 60m-70m (FFA Small Sided Games Size)

Ball Size: 5

Matches: Minimum of 1 and maximum of 2 matches per day.

Cost: $500 per team (includes ground hire, referee fees, team kit bag, ball, souvenir for each player, team pendant and entry to events)

Draft Schedule

Sunday 10th July: Opening Ceremony at AIS Arena

Monday 11th July: Matches at fields, followed by Kanga Cup Movie Night

Tuesday 12th July: Matches at fields followed by Players Disco and Coaching Seminar

Wednesday 13th July, Matches at fields followed by Team Leaders Dinner

Thursday 14th July, Semi Finals and Consolation matches at fields, followed by Tournament Awards.

Friday 15th July, Grand Finals at Venues
