Self Managed Care - SA

Event date:
28 May 2008

Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service of South Australia and the South Australian Council of Social Service invite you to a Community Consultation about Self Managed Care

The State Government wants to change the way that personal assistance and care services are delivered.

They are thinking about a system where people with disabilities and their families can determine for themselves who they want to employ and for how many hours, and how they want to use their allocated funding for personal care.

You have a chance to tell the State Government how you would like to have your service delivered.

We will show you a video about Laurence Clark, a comedian from the UK with Cerebral Palsy, who explains how the system works in the UK.

We have invited Dr. Paul Collier to talk about his experiences of self managed care in the UK.

This is an initiative of SACOSS and DACSSA and the information will be reported to the Minister for Disability Services, the Hon Jay Weatherill.

We are looking forward to hearing what you have to say!
