Sensory Theatre Holiday -Scratch 'n' Sniff

Event date:
1 April 2013 to 12 April 2013

St Martins Youth Arts Centre are offering a Sensory Theatre Holiday program called Scratch 'n' Sniff on the 8th - 12th April at our theatre complex in South Yarra. It will run from 10am-3pm. This program will be an integrated and inclusive program for children aged 9-12 who are hearing, hearing impaired or deaf. Children who are deaf or hearing impaired will receive a half price subsidy. The full cost is $135 and we also offer financial scholarships, should that be required.

The teaching artists running the workshops and holiday program are Jodee Mundy, a theatre director who is a native Auslan speaker and Jodie Ahrens, a specialist in sensory theatre (Roundangle Theatre).

Sensory theatre is about making theatre from catalysts such as taste, feel, sound vibrations as well as language (speech or Auslan). It has the potential to engage all children equally as it explores diverse ways to think about, create and experience theatre.
