Nican is pleased to present this Message from Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia in recognition of the 2010 International Day for People with a Disability.

All of us here at Nican wish you a happy & successful International Day, Friday 3 December 2010!

Accessible version:  I send my warmest greetings to those attending this year's community day in recognition of the International Day for People with a Disability.

On this unifying occasion when admiration, empathy, encouragement and hope defy borders and spread wide across the globe, we acknowledge the extraordinary courage, skills and achievements of Australians with a disability in their endeavours to lead fulfilling lives as individuals and as citizens of our nation.

We also observe the compassion, effort and resourcefullness of the men and women - loving familly members and carers, professionals and creative thinkers and problem solvers - who give their confidence and support to people with a disability in order to improve the quality of their everyday lives.

Friends, thank you for what you are and what you do.  You show us the richness and strength that diversity brings to our national character, our community life and our personal growth. You are, and you represent, the very best of human contribution and care.

I wish you all a day of celebration, joy and friendship.

Signed: Quentin Bryce
