Macability Award - entries now open

The annual Fisher's Ghost Art Awards from this year have a new category for artists with a disability.

Category F is the MACABILITY AWARD proudly sponsored by Macarthur Disability Services (MDS) to encourage and recognise the work of artists with a disability.

This category is made possible through the work of Jessica Fesic, herself an artist and a current participant in the MDS Leadership Forward Program 2012 as her idea for a leadership project in our community.

Please invite any person with a disability who is an aspiring artist to submit an artwork taking the following into account:

Artwork Specifications

  • Hung works (Open Award): 250cm height x 250cm length MAX
  • Hung works (All other awards): 150cm width and 150cm length MAX
  • Free standing works (including all 3D, sculptures, ceramics and installation works): 150cm height x 150cm depth MAX
  • Hung works must have 'D' rings or suitable hanging brackets attached to frame. All unframed works must be displayable by a magnet system.
  • Wet works will not be accepted
  • Entries in GP or GS do not have to be mounted and/or framed.
  • Sculptures to be located in the Sculpture Garden are not limited to a particular size. Delivery and pick-up is to be both organised and undertaken by the entrant in consultation with Centre staff.

All works must be labelled on the back of the work with your name, address, title, section entered, and sale price.
