Amplify your art is a new professional development funding program for NSW artists who experience disability. It will be delivered by Accessible Arts and grants will be awarded in early 2013.

The first of its kind in NSW, this $150,000 funding program has been made available through a two-year NSW Government partnership between Arts NSW and Ageing, Disability and Home Care, to promote a culture of inclusion in the arts and cultural sector for people with disability.

Amplify your art grants will be awarded for amounts of between $5,000 and $10,000 to individual artists for the costs associated with developing artists' professional practice in any art form. The focus is on career development. Costs can include training, mentoring, travel and skills development.

Accessible Arts will launch the funding program on Monday 8 October 2012 and information and guidelines will be available on Accessible Arts' website to assist with the application process. Artists with disability who are NSW residents and demonstrate a minimum two-year commitment to their arts practice will be eligible to apply.

"Amplify your art is a great opportunity for artists to strengthen their arts practice," said Sarah-Vyne Vassallo, Arts Development Officer at Accessible Arts.

"The funding program is designed to meet the needs of individual artists with disability who desire support to realise their artistic potential through professional development. Accessible Arts is very excited about assisting both metropolitan and regional artists with disability in this way."
