Horticultural Therapy Society of NSW Inc.

This Society offers horticultural therapy and promotes horticulture as recreation and rehabilitation for people with disabilities.Short course runs in conjunction with Ryde College of TAFE, 'Horticulture Techniques for Therapy' (for health care workers, carers, etc). Ryde College of TAFE offers one-semester courses for people with disabilities - 'Horticulture Skills'. The Society provides information on accessible garden designing and re-designing existing gardens to low maintenance, holds workshops and seminars. The Society aims to promote the use of horticulture in recreation and rehabilitation for older people, people with disabilities, and those who work with them. A display garden area provides ideas for raised garden beds for more accessible gardening. Please ring direct for more information or an appointment to visit.
