ACT Public Library - Home Library Service

Libraries ACT  Home Library Service is for those people who are aged, ill, physically unable to get about, or physically unable to handle print material.

If you cannot visit a library, but love to read, the library will come to you.

To apply for the Home Library Service, contact the library and ask for an application form, or download the form online.

You will need a phone or written referral from your doctor, nurse, community worker, or the Canberra Blind Society.

Materials available to members of the Home Library Service include: 

Books in standard print and large print, Audio books on CD, Music CDs, DVDs, Magazines, Reader's Digest in Large Print, Languages other than English.

Library members can also use the library website to browse the catalogue, request items, and search a wide range of electronic resources including full-text magazines and newspapers, and downloadable audio books and e-books.

The Mobile Library visits set locations around Canberra on a fortnightly basis.

It carries books in standard print and large print, books on CD, music CDs, DVDs, and magazines.

A wheelchair lifter is available on request.
