Rec Link

Rec Link (recreation link) is a community based organisation providing all forms of recreation, sport and leisure activities for adults with an intellectual disability and moderate to high support needs. There are currently over 40 different activities available which can be modified to meet individual needs. The activities may include music, drama, line dancing, craft, ceramics & art, woodwork, sewing, community volunteer work, sporting activities such as cricket, soccer, basketball, ten pin bowls, social outings, movies, bingo, darts, exercise, fitness & walking, education and computers.Day Link is a day program and community access service for adults with an intellectual disability and moderate to high support needs. The service supports people with ageing parents, and people who reside outside the area and who access respite services in Dubbo. Day programs vary enormously to meet a wide range of individual need and interest. The activities may include but are not limited to - community access, such as how to use public transport, the bank, shopping and visit the library. Independent living training, cooking and learning about health and nutrition. Communication skills. Various fitness, sporting, recreation and leisure activities. Art and craft, literacy and numerical skills development. Interpersonal and social skills, music and drama, and pre-employment training. Day Link provides full day programs 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 3.00pm Friday. Community Participation and Transition to work programs are also available for school leavers.
