Powerhouse Museum (Ultimo, NSW)

The Powerhouse Museum is Australia's largest museum complex. It is filled with experiences in science, technology, industry, decorative arts, design, and social history. Twenty-five major exhibitions explore the creativity and Australian achievement, the past, the present and the future and aim to entertain and inform. The Powerhouse has something for everyone. There is a membership available, call (02) 9217 0375.The Powerhouse provides services for visitors with disabilities. Services for the physically impaired include a walkway, ramps and lifts, wheelchairs to accessible toilets. Services for the hearing impaired include induction loops, and a FM tour guide system. Sign language interpreters can be booked to accompany a guided tour. Special tours can be booked for blind and visually impaired visitors. Tactual maps and some braille and large print material about the Powerhouse is available from the Royal Blind Society.
