National Parks Association Of NSW Inc

Acronym:
NPA

The NPA is a non-government nature conservation organisation supported largely by subscriptions from its members. The Association's first priority is to promote an adequate and well managed system of national parks for New South Wales. The main efforts of the NPA are directed towards proposing new areas for reservation as national parks, protecting natural values of areas outside national parks, monitoring the management of existing reserves, and providing an activities program which encourages members to visit natural areas and learn more about them. The NPA has field activities to assist people to enjoy walking. The activities are for the novice, and for the experienced walker, providing companions for the walk. Bushwalking is the main activity, with abseiling offered occasionally. There are members 'get together' evenings, and lecture nights.
