The service is for family carers, staff and agency volunteers who provide respite in the community (eg in home, day centres, activity programs) for people with dementia who have behaviours which, for whatever reason, is causing risk to distress to themselves, their carers or those around them. Information on dementia, its symptoms, phone advice and assistance in assessing reasons for behaviours of concern, and development of strategies to address behaviours of concerns. Can assist in arranging staff development / education for staff, link into support and resources and referrals for counselling and advocacy.
