Amputee Services - Caulfield General Hospital (VIC)
Caulfield General Medical Centre is a 500 bed acute medical and surgical, rehabilitation and extended care hospital.It provides rehabilitation for adult amputees of all ages. The program is directed towards the acquisition of skills that enable patients to return home and function as independently as possible within the community. Both upper and lower limb amputees are managed on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Vocational and avocational prosthetic devices can be custom made and training supplied, to enable the client to return to or participate in high level activities including competitive sports The amputee unit holds weekly medical and prosthetic review clinics for outpatients. An amputee handbook is available on request. The team members of this unit form a resource network for other hospitals and the community at large.
