Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) is a national educational and professional association for people working in the areas of focus of health education, physical education, recreation, sport, dance, community fitness and movement sciences.The council has been involved in the following special projects aimed at creating community awareness about a healthy lifestyle; Daily Physical Education (Australia's first comprehensive curriculum for daily physical education for Australian schools); Jump Rope for Heart, in conjunction with the National Heart Foundation; Australian Fitness Education Award; AUSSIE SPORT Coaching Manuals (in conjunction with the Australian Sports Commission); Australian Fitness Accreditation Council; Recreation in Nursing Homes project. A new Physical Education - Primary (PEP) series of resources is currently being developed, with Fitness and Dance now available.
