Books are available on almost all subjects for adults and children. Both regular and large print books are available and there are books in many different languages. There is also a large collection of story and picture books for children. For young adults, there is a special collection of books and magazines. Other services include talking books or books on CD which are available in adult and junior titles, magazines on many subjects are available for loan except for current issues, reference materials may be consulted but not borrowed. There are also growing collections of non book materials including talking books, spoken word and music cassette tapes, compact discs, videos, DVD's and CD-Roms. Request and information service - used when you cannot find what you want on the shelves, a home library service is available for those people who through age, illness or other reasons cannot get to the library, exhibitions and displays are presented on interesting topics throughout the year. The library subcribes to several online databases and maintains an extensive online community information service. We are interested in your ideas and local organisations may apply to stage a publicity or similar display.
