The Disabled Motorists Associationis a self help group which assists people with a physical disability to gain independence through motoring.The organisation offers advice, training in the use of hand controls, and accommodation. A permanent parking scheme is available to members who work in the City of Melbourne, and must drive because they cannot use public transport. A statewide parking scheme is available in most municipalities. Application forms for labels are available from local councils. .
