The Duke of Edinburgh's Award offers all young people a challenge to endeavour and achieve through a balanced program of leisure activities, in which they are encouraged to serve others, acquire new skills and experience adventure.There is a wide choice of activities and young people are encouraged to choose activities which suit their particular interests and talents, and which are appropriate to the environment in which they live. There are three separate Awards - Bronze, Silver and Gold. The availability of the activities is dependent on the resources available to the operating group or individual participant. The Bridge Award offers a wide choice of activities for which all interested people with disabilities can qualify. The Award can be achieved in its original format by kids with disabilities however is available to people with a disability over the age of 14 years.
