Interchange Program Victoria - Westernport Region

The Interchange program provides a respite care program for children with disabilities (0-18 years) by matching with a host carer.Carers are assessed by the program worker and fully trained. There is no cost to the family. Respite is provided one weekend a month in the carer's home, giving parents a much needed break to spend quality time with each other, and with other children. There is also a youth group for adolescents with disabilities, which meets fortnightly for recreation activities. Camps and school holiday programs are run by this group. The Interchange program is part of the Oz Child organisation. This is one of eight branches in the Melbourne metropolitan area. Call for contact numbers of the others.
