Katoomba Scenic Railway & Sceniscender

Tourist attraction.Scenic World is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible toilet. The cableway (formally known as the Sceniscender) is a wheelchair friendly cable car system that can carry up to 84 passengers and descends 200 metres from a cliff top at Katoomba into the Jamison Valley and passes the Three Sisters. At the bottom is a 300 metre rainforest boardwalk, which is wheelchair accessible. The Scenic Railway train itself has difficult access. There are steps from the platform onto the train. Under workcover laws staff are unable to assist passengers onto the train. Travellers cannot remain in their wheelchair for the trip, and need to be able to transfer to a standard train seat. The train travels at a very steep incline. Please ring Scenic World direct for more information.
