Leisure Focus Program - Hills Community Support Group

The Leisure Focus Program allows young adults with disabilities to engage in recreational activities of their choice.The Program aims to improve an individuals quality of life through supported participation in leisure activities. A person is matched with a volunteer buddy or support worker (depending on the level of support needed), who accompanies and assists the individual to access and participate in a recreational activity As well as individual activities, group activities are organised to allow people to mix with their peer group. Group activities include 'weekend overnighters' where the group plans and conducts an overnight stay and organises activities for the weekend. Camps and excursions are also planned to allow the group to socialise in the community.
