Macquarie Community College holds special courses for people who have a developmental disability. The College is a community managed non-profit organisation sponsored by the NSW government to provide open access to all adults to a wide range of education opportunities both in the evening and during the day utilising the facilities of local schools. The aim of the College is to conduct courses based upon community needs and interests using skilled teachers and craftspeople in a relaxed and friendly setting. Students need no formal school qualifications and no special knowledge of the subject.The fees you pay cover your teacher's salary. Most practical classes also involve charges for materials. These are kept as low as possible. Additionally the College is establishing links with the Department of Employment, Education and Training through local CES offices to conduct free courses.
