National Parks and Wildlife Service Quarantine Station

There are many features of the Quarantine Station that make it significant. Its physical fabric consists of Aboriginal sites as well as over 70 European works including buildings and roadways as well as over 2000 European and Asian engraving dating back to the early 1800's. These demonstrate the role of the site in the history of Aboriginal occupation, immigration, medical science and quarantine practice.A Conference Centre is situated at the Quarantine Station, but has no wheelchair access. Ghost Tours of the Quarantine Station are held each Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, contact (02) 9247 5033 for tour details. The Quarantine Station is a fragile site so access is by guided tour only. A small tour fee is charged. Public tours are daily. Private group tours are 7 days a week by arrangement. Bookings are essential.
