Natuional Stroke Foundation

The Australian Brain Foundation is a non-profit community health organisation established in 1970 to assist in prevention and treatment of brain diseases and injuries. The aims and objectives encompass - research into causes, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, education and community service programs, a Stroke Support Scheme to promote the independence of stroke affected people and their families, establishment and assistance of Stroke Self Help Groups, resources and guidelines to Community Health Centres and Hospitals as appropriate, books, videos and brochures on stroke, Migraine, Parkinson's disease and head injuries, papers for general practitioners, liaison with government and non-government bodies, annual Stroke and Migraine Weeks. There is a branch of the Foundation in most states. Donations to support the work are welcome.
