VICSERV

VICSERV is the peak organisation representing the community managed psychiatric disability sector.Its purposes are to promote and develop the concept of community managed psychiatric disability services, to influence the reallocation of mental health resources from an institutional base to a community managed base, to develop policy via an action-research mode with members, ie to monitor the field, identify gaps and issues and develop appropriate policy responses collaboratively. The Service also collaborates with members in the planning and delivery of a comprehensive range of services for people who use member agency services. It provides mechanisms whereby members have a maximum opportunity for access to information, education assistance, interaction and participation in the decision-making processes affecting the community managed mental health sector.
