SSPA is a non-profit self-help association founded in 1968 for people who don't (or will not) reach a height of 150cm (4'11) at maturity, due to growth disorders.The aim of our association is the assimilation of people of short stature into society, with the goal of equality of opportunity through education, social status and employment. We aim to promote personal development and self esteem through contact with others of short stature, as well as the promotion of understanding among people of average stature. We strive to help and support new parents of short statured children. The association promotes research into causes and treatment of short stature. We maintain contact with the medical profession through our Professional Advisory Board. The association provides advice and counselling for all members, as well as advice on education, availability of government assistance, practical advice.
