Transperth - Information on Accessible Public Transport in Perth

Categories:
Acronym:

Details on accessible public transport. The policy of Transperth Trains is that all stations and trains should be accessible to people with disabilities. There is a program underway to make all stations fully wheelchair accessible. It is essential for train passengers who require assistance to board or alight from suburban trains to use a 'Telephone for Assistance' booking service on 1800 800 022 at least 60 minutes before you require this service. When you call this number the operator will ask you for full details of your proposed journey eg time, departure point, destination return time, contact telephone numbers and name, so that a Customer Service Assistant (CSA) can be positioned at both your boarding station, destination and transfer point if required. Please arrange to be at the station 5 minutes prior to the train's timetable departure time so that the CSA can assist you. Information on accessible stations can be obtained from Customer Service 1800 800 022. All Transperth's new buses are fully accessible for wheelchairs. These buses are capable of 'kneeling' to the kerb where a ramp will extend to allow passengers in wheelchairs to access the bus. Please note: Although the accessible buses have been designed to exceed the proposed national standards, some oversized wheelchairs and scooters will not be able to board. The width of the bus aisle, between the wheel housings is 850mm. The wheelchair bay has a length of 1370mm and a width of 850mm. Accessible bus routes 17, 20, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 44, 46, 47, 49, 50, 52, 55, 69, 81, 84, 85, 97, 98, 99, 102, 103, 107, 140, 150, 160, 170, 176, 177, 179, 210, 211, 212, 220, 228, 230, 231, 232, 240, 241, 243, 244, 245, 249, 250, 251, 252, 253, 254, 267, 314, 315, 323, 324, 325, 326, 327, 456, 500, 503, 504, 505, 510, 514, 522, 525, 526, 527, 540, 541, 542, 543, 554, 555, 556, 850, 851, 881, 920, 940, Fremantle CAT, Joondalup CAT and Perth CAT.
